Madrid is my hometown, I lived there for almost forty years. My clearest memory is walking through the city center at Christmas time. From Plaza del Callao to Puerta del Sol, all those streets are full of life and on these days, they are especially pretty. I send him a list the day before the market day, and I receive a message back when the order is completed to pass by and pick it up. During the volcanic eruption days in La Palma, the greengrocer was selling Plátanos de Canarias from these plantations at a lower price due to some damages. The fruit was good but quite ripe. This was perfect for my wife to cook some vegan baking for my brother-in-law. When I arrived home, my wife opened the bags and saw “normal” Plátanos de Canarias with a handwritten note saying that these were the most economical that day… but they weren’t ripe enough for cooking, so I have been eating Plátanos de Canarias for weeks. Next time, I’ll be more spec...
